The accountants of Troost Accountants in Oud-Beijerland, The Netherlands, have signed for a unique sponsorship with the Sea Ranger Service. As a new initiative that works in the Port of Rotterdam to combat youth unemployment, reintegration of veterans and surveillance and restoration of maritime landscape, it is an ideal candidate to be supported by the firm.
“As an accounting firm you do not often have the opportunity to commit to a citizen initiative with such an extensive economic and social growth potential.” – Maurice Ruivenkamp, partner Troost Accountants.
Troost Accountants now supports the project by sponsoring all its financial accounting and administrative tasks during the start-up phase of the initiative. The sponsorship is a huge support for the Sea Ranger Service, which has managed to get the initiative off the ground with limited resources and support from various companies.
“It is our ambition to work at sea on active management and regeneration of ocean areas and with the support of Troost the implementation of that challenge is getting a lot closer.” – Wietse van der Werf, founder of Sea Ranger Service.
The first patrol ship of the Sea Ranger Service was presented last Friday at an event in the Port of Rotterdam Merwe-Vierhavens, with the Mayor of Rotterdam, Ahmed Aboutaleb, and CEO of the Port of Rotterdam, Allard Castelein, giving the starting shot for the project.
